Step 2: Customize the chart by selecting appropriate challenges from the list below. They're arranged from simple tasks for beginners to advanced challenges.

TIP: Limit each chart to five goals so you don't overwhelm your child. Update the goals with new charts as your child progresses.

TIP: Feel free to substitute the words your family uses for "potty" or "BM" when talking with your child.

TIP: You can also create custom goals to focus on your child's unique situation.

Step 3: Motivate! Some kids like stickers and some don’t. You know your child best, so the reward part of this chart is up to you. Items you might use:
Sticker sheets with your kid's favorite themes or characters (rainbows, trucks, dinosaurs, animals, favorite book or TV show characters, etc.)
Rubber stamps and sparkly ink pads
Gel pens, glitter crayons or scented markers
Small treats or prizes, attached to the chart (remove and award as they're earned)
Printed stamps attached with a glue stick or tape
Make sure to use the items only for the potty training progress chart, so your child will see them as special rewards.
