Brandon Is Getting Started on Potty Training

Meet Brandon and His Mom
I have tried everything, but nothing seems to work with Brandon. I have to confess that I'm beginning to get frustrated. While his friends have been potty trained, Brandon still runs screaming from the potty, and he's found hiding places in the house I never knew existed. We want to get Brandon into pre-school, but he has to be potty trained to go.
Getting Started
Well today we started Brandon’s potty training and I have to say thing’s did not start off well. Mom & I showed him the difference between diaper’s and big boy underwear. I held both the diaper & underwear under the bathroom faucet to show him that the pee was going to come out if he didn’t use the potty. He said he understood, but when I put him in underwear outside he had 4 accidents. (One had poop) He freaked out!! I was totally unprepared….No wipes, underwear, short’s etc. I think we both learned our first lesson together. LOL!!! We also showed him the potty for my car and the Pee Pee Bottle. I think this bottle is going to be a great thing when we are out and about. I am not going to let this first day get me down, but I am thinking that we might have a long road ahead of us.

Brandon had a poop diaper and didn’t tell me right away. I had to ask him and then he said yes he did. After I changed him I took him into the bathroom and showed him where his poop should go and let him flush.

Well while we were at the Doctors office Brandon had a poop accident. He said sorry Mommy. Once I cleaned him up he asked to use the “Pee Pee Bottle” he didn’t go, but I was happy he asked.
****
Tonight before our shower he asked to sit on the potty and he went!! He was so happy and proud. Then after he got out he asked to pee in the bottle again and this time he did it. I was shocked, happy and proud all in one. After we put 2 train’s on the potty train.

Brandon got up this morning and asked to use the bottle to pee. He did. He also told me that he pooped in his Pull-Ups pants which he doesn’t do all the time. Nice!! I told him that after lunch I wanted him to sit on the potty….well while I was loading the washer he went and got the bottle without me knowing and peed all on his own. He came running in to show me. What is going on? He used the potty and bottle 8 more time’s today. This might be the start of something people. Today was a great potty day!!

My Mom had the kid’s while we went to the Keys for the night and she said he did great!!

Keeping It Up with Potty Training
Brandon had no accidents all day! We went out to eat and he told me he had to pee so we went to the bathroom and he used the bottle and he did it...he peed!! I love this!! He put the pee in the toilet himself and we washed our hands and that was that.

I am freaking out...Brandon pooped in the potty today for the first time. I told him that I would get him the car he wanted if he pooped in the potty. So he went right in the bathroom, sat down, and pooped. The wipe part is going to be tough. He did however have a pee accident today.
****
This morning he pooped and peed all on his own. However while I was cleaning the house I put a Pull-Ups training pant on him and he pooped. I was not happy. He did pee before his shower. I am a little disappointed today, but that will only make me work harder to meet our goal.

So this morning Brandon woke me up at 4:15am to go potty. His Pull-Ups pant was dry. This is great!! What a way to start our big day. We are just a few hours away from riding on Thomas the Train. I will say he needs to work on getting back to sleep after he gets up to pee. Well, Thomas was great! Brandon rode all the way to Miami and had no accidents later. And then when we got home he broke in his new Thomas potty and pooped and peed. Later at dinner he used the bottle. Mommy thinks this has been another great potty day!

Brandon Is Close to The Big Finish

Meet Brandon and His Mom
Brandon likes to go to the potty when we put him there. But he'll never tell us ahead of time. I'm trying really hard, and even carrying a portable potty everywhere I go. We are determined to get Brandon potty trained by the time we take our annual summer cruise. If he's potty trained he can go into the day care on the cruise. If not, we'll have to carry him around.
Almost Finished with Potty Training
Today Alan had the kids all day and he said Brandon did great! Later with me he pooped and peed two times.

Again great day...While shopping he told me he had to go so he used the bottle. I noticed that he is starting to just go on his own now without telling me until he is done. That is so cool!

Tonight Brandon had his first accident in a long time. During dinner he waited too long to get to the bathroom so by the time he got there he went in his pants on the floor. He was so upset and started to cry. We told him it was okay that he needed to go right away when he feels that feeling and that accidents happen. I have them a bath early tonight and put on his Pull-Ups training pant. Well the little stinker peed in it and that made me mad. I made him change himself.

This morning Brandon got up and his Pull-Ups pant was dry. He went into the bathroom and peed a lot! He asked me to get the video so I could tape him going to the potty. He stayed in the Pull-Ups pant most of the morning which stayed dry. But then he realized he wasn't in underwear and went and changed himself. This is great! I really think he is starting to understand this whole potty training himself. The rest of the day was good. He pooped and peed in the potty no problem. We are having wiping issues.

Well today we went to show Brandon his new school and I can't believe it, but he went number 2 while we were there and even tried to wipe by himself. I am so proud of him. He also learned that when he washes his hands at school they count to the number 15 before they rinse their hands. Something for us to work on at home.

He did it again!!! This morning Brandon woke me up at 5:00 am to pee. His Pull-Ups pant was dry. The rest of the day was perfect.

Today was a very weird day... This morning as I was making my bed I heard the sound of water or maybe someone peeing??? Well, as I turned the corner to the kid's bathroom I saw Brandon standing on his little potty peeing like his Dad in the big potty. It was out of no where. Crazy!! His aim was pretty good. He is tall enough to stand on the floor so I told him no more standing on the little one. He peed this way the rest of the day. My little man is growing up. I am proud and sad all at the same time.

Well, this is my last entry and I have to say I am a little sad. This whole experience has been wonderful not only for Brandon, but for us as a family. It has also given me more confidence as a Mother. Pooping & peeing like a champ. I hope that Brandon not only walks away from this totally potty trained, but that he also learns what it is to set a goal for himself and how wonderful it feels to accomplish it. I am so proud of our son he has handled this whole thing better than I could have imagined. He is such a wonderful little boy who continues to surprise me every day. Okay you got me to cry again. LOL
