The History of Pull-Ups® Brand

For more than three decades, Pull-Ups® has been a part of the potty training journey. A lot has changed since 1989! Follow our journey to see what has led us to where we are today.

    1989

    Kimberly-Clark created the training pants category with the introduction of a product that “pulled up.” With Pull-Ups®, toddlers were starting to become Big Kids®!

    1991

    Pull-Ups® aired its first commercial on television with its famous slogan “I’m a Big Kid Now!" which is still used for the brand today.

    1992

    Gender-based training pants were introduced with customized absorbency where boys and girls wet the most. Pull-Ups® still uses gender-specific leak protection today.

    1996

    Realistic underwear designs were introduced with a fly front style for boys and a lace trim style for girls.

    Disney character designs were introduced, starring Mickey Mouse for boys and Minnie Mouse for girls.
